Submit your Talk
Run a talk or session at Tech Nottingham or Women in Tech - we are always looking for new speakers with new and different ideas, whether it be advice, experience reports, workshops, or even something as simple as "I'm no expert but I've been looking into this, and this is what I've found...".
The techniques, tools and frameworks that you use every day are usually very different to everyone else, and what is a no-brainer for you could be a revelation for your peers. If you’d like us to, we'll help you develop your talk, ensuring the ideas you want to convey will be what's in peoples' heads when they leave the room.
We’ve pulled together a handy selection of resources to help you with your talk, from finding that initial idea, to planning and finally delivering your talk.
Paying our speakers
We’re currently not able to pay speakers due to a lack of sponsorship.
We hope this will change in the future but if you are struggling to cover travel or accommodation costs, please reach out and we can discuss sponsorship options.

“Having set a goal to get some public speaking under my belt I knew there was no better place to start than at a WiT event. Prior to the event I had tons of support from the organisers to help me formulate a talk, their kindness and encouragement put me at ease. The best part is how amazingly engaging the attendees were! If you’re thinking about it...just get on it and have some fun, I thoroughly recommend!”

Attendees range from mathematicians, data scientists, software engineers, testers, designers, product owners and so much more. It's an incredibly supportive, interested audience and the ideal place for first time or nervous speakers.

“I absolutely loved speaking at Women In Tech Nottingham, they have a fantastic community and it was great to be involved. The team ran a really seamless virtual event, it was so engaging and kept the audience involved throughout. Being from Nottingham myself, it was amazing to be able to deliver a talk to the Nottingham tech community. I look forward to running a WiT Nottingham and Coding Black Females collaboration in future. ”

“The community in Nottingham is so incredibly encouraging and welcoming. Whether you’re an experienced speaker, or a first timer like I was, there is always somebody nodding in encouragement, bigging you up on Twitter, or coming to speak to your afterwards. It was the perfect environment to get up and deliver my first talk, and I’m really grateful to have booked in a few more runs of it at other local events later in the year.”

“Speaking at Tech Nottingham was a fantastic experience.
The Tech Nottingham crowd differs from many tech events that I’ve attended; there are all kinds of people from different parts of the tech scene and at different stages of their careers. This makes for a sense of inclusion that’s both rare and welcome (there’s even provision for folks that don’t want to walk into the event alone!).
The folks attending my talk were engaged and enthusiastic; no awkward silences with audience interactions, excellent questions at the end.
I’d happily recommend Tech Nottingham to anyone.”
