We are excited to present a talk on Design Thinking, by Paul Bailey, at November’s Tech on Toast!

Get a free breakfast, hear some of Nottingham's brightest share their ideas and projects and socialise with the other members of the local tech community, all before you start your day.

Tech on Toast is free and there are no tickets required.

We'll be serving a range of breakfast options in a relaxed environment and all are welcome, regardless of technical background.

Design Thinking Dad: Why I Take My Creative Work Home

by Paul Bailey

Paul Bailey

Paul Bailey

Paul Bailey is a UX Consultant, a bit of a geek and a full time human maker (father of 4).

Over the last year he's been on a transformational personal journey — from a 'Designer' trapped by waterfall delivery, to a 'Design Thinker' working in a fast-paced agile environment.

In November’s Tech on Toast, he'll share his story and show how, armed with only an abundant supply of post-it notes, he's used Design Thinking at work to empower creative teams and in his personal life to tackle the everyday challenges of being a parent.

While you enjoy a free coffee and breakfast he'll answers questions like:

How do you collaborate to create awesome experiences?

What skills will you need to thrive in the 4th industrial revolution?

And perhaps most importantly, how should you respond when kids ask "are we nearly there yet?"

About Paul

Paul is a UX consultant at SPARCK, the Strategic Design Consultancy and part of BJSS (the biggest independent IT consultancy in the UK.)

He’s been planning, prototyping and designing digital services and products for over 20 years and has created innovative solutions for some of the UK’s largest organisations and government departments.

A self-confessed Typothermiac and a bit of a geek, when not thinking about human centred design he spends his time coming up with ingenious ways to entertain his kids whilst building their creative confidence.
