Scaling Teams, Scaling Software

Paul Shannon

Paul Shannon

Paul Shannon (@BlueReZZ) has seen the teams at 7digital evolve over the time he's been there. The journey of the teams is interesting as their shape and size was governed by the systems they were building and the ways they were building them. Paul will talk through the history of 7digital; showing how it grew from 2 people to 130 people, and a Technology Team of 1 to the current 42 it is today. You might learn a new way to create, merge and grow teams, and you'll probably learn about how the tech team of Shoreditch start up got them from a desk in Oxford Street to be a globally operating, publicly listed company.

About Paul

Paul Shannon VP of Technology at 7digital. He started there as a developer 3 years ago in the Services Dev Team, building and maintaining their API. He previously worked in Staffordshire for a small company working in the vehicle finance industry where he, along with the rest of the team, helped adopt agile, lean and XP practices. Continuing his love for continuous improvement he's since led teams and moved

In this talk, 65 million years in the making, your esteemed host Andrew Seward (@MrAndrew) explores what went wrong at Jurassic Park; what mistakes were made by the leadership, Jeff Goldblum, the planners, designers, developers and dinosaur wranglers and what it can teach us about deploying complex systems into unpredictable environments.

Also why Jeff Goldblum didn't know what the hell he was talking about.
